Week 5: P.1

Armstrong Garden Centers’ site gives the aesthetic of a more local but professional business. With its history venturing back to 1889, the white background, olive green text, and professionally done pictures displayed proves this. Armstrong advertises for new employees with a list of benefits and a layout of their system through external links and a YouTube video. Their main market is with the garden hobbyist, small gardening businesses, and home landscaping. RanchoVistaNursery is also a local/professional growing business, with 40 years of experience. RanchoVistaNursery specializes in high quality consumer and retailer stock Cacti or Succulents. Their site is decorated with a background of antique wood and a foreground of white with the resemblance of paper. In addition, their images are well done and placed evenly and aligned comfortably with the text and aligned consistently. The aesthetic resembles a scrapbook, giving a rustic/modern look. They also use a multitude of different f

Amazon https://www.amazon.com/ref=nav_logo Amazon is now a giant in the distributional industry and everyday online shopping. Their success and efficiency in their website design has proved to be effective with 112 million users in the U.S. alone in 2019. They provide a massive stock of everyday items that will be delivered incredibly fast, with or without Amazon Prime Membership. When opening their main site without an account, you are greeted by a gradient of Navy blue on the top directory, a light blue downward fading into a slight grey white background with a slide show of Amazon products and customer favorites. The other sections scrolling downward displays a wide array of categories, creating a clear concept of the service they provide. At the top directory the first listed link is to their deals only available for the day. If a customer see’s an item they want on sale they are more likely to purchase it even if it wasn’t on the customer’s list. Amazon is also known for its

http://gatesnfences.com/ "GatesnFences" is a company that provides the service/product of iron gate construction, with credentials like contracts with Disney. But their lack of passion in the website, in turn, makes them lose credibility. First, there is a lack of consistency with font, text color, and contrast. Next, they have animations going through titles, links, and text with poor contrast. Their main text color is black with links painted in blue, a normal practice. But the description of the business takes up the entirety of the screen with it being in an incredibly wide format and small text. Another confusing navigation problem is the incredibly large list in the directory that would overwhelm anyone scrolling through. With colors like a red background and white text makes it hard to follow. Images appear amateur and at different angles, this makes it confusing to look at. Improvements would be to organize the main information at the home site, put it in readable p

With their popularity, they are actively keeping fans up to date with latest gear releases and sponsored musicians to advertise their product. Gibson

Week 3: P.1

During a business to customer interaction, especially online, it is the responsibility of the business to insure that the customer is consistently updated and informed when technicalities come from their end. Its frustrating when it takes months to get a response from a business on email. Generally, it will make the customer feel unimportant and will most likely consider a competitor's service/product rather than the other's, for good reason.  I had a similar situation with a small business selling clothes online, it was a hoodie and few shirts, although I don't remember which business it was.  When I confirmed the order with a shipping time of 10-15 business days (couldn't afford that $40 two day shipping), or around 3 weeks, but 3 months went by with multiple emails from me about them failing to send a confirmation that my package had shipped. Then I finally got a response and surprisingly they were quick to let me know that my package had now shipped and apolo
